ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DOG OWNERS!

The farmer, on whose beautiful land we hold our festival, after further discussion, has agreed to allow dogs again this year! We are all huge dog lovers so this is obviously fantastic news but it does come with very strict caveats after the selfish and careless behaviour of a few people last year put livestock and potentially other festival goers at risk on this working farm. 

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON BRINGING YOUR FURRY FRIEND!

You WILL be told to leave if:

*Your dog is found to be off-lead at ANY point on site (including any of the surrounding farmland) regardless of how well-behaved or obedient. A mother sheep with her lamb was attacked by two dogs last year and we will not be making ANY exceptions to this rule. Dogs need to be kept under sensible control at all times.

* You do not clear up after your dog. As dogs will be on leads at all times there is no excuse ("I didn't see them do it") to leave poo lying around. Please bear in mind that if this issue arises again it means there will be no dogs allowed next year so if you see someone else ignoring their dog's poo it will be worth reminding them that it will be on them, not the farmer or us organisers, if dogs end up banned in 2026. Dog muck can, and does, cause potentially fatal diseases in grazing livestock, often causing them to miscarry their young. This is a very serious problem and there is a ton of information about it online for any naysayers. Aside from this it's also totally unacceptable and potentially dangerous for there to be dog faeces on the campsite and surrounds where people will be walking and children running around and playing. Basically, if there is a load of poo left lying around again, whether you've cleared up your own dog's or not, we obviously won't be able to have dogs again in the future.

*You do not dispose of used poo bags and leave them on the ground and not in the many bins on site.

*Your dog is aggressive to other dogs, livestock or people.

*Your dog is disruptive and disturbs other festival goers.

Please note that dogs will not be allowed in the marquees for obvious health and safety reasons (for them too!) so please plan accordingly.

We have really gone to bat for all those responsible people who make up the majority of the dog owners who are part of our freedom community, and we are trusting that the few very simple and reasonable rules set out above will be adhered to by all. Unfortunately, as with so many things in life, the bad behaviour of a few can spoil things for everyone else and is something we very much want to avoid!
